Resource of the week: Breaking Cycles of Generational Trauma
Sunday May 12, many in the United States take a moment to honor their moms, grandmothers, mother figures, and aunties on Mother’s Day. At SARCC, we see daily that there are moms out there who are recognizing and working hard to overcome generational trauma to build healthier, happier life for themselves, and their children. For those moms, especially we take a moment to honor what you do. For all of the moms out there who are working hard to build safe and healthy futures for your children, we know that it is helping! For those of you who struggle on this day in particular, we see you too, and please know that you are cared for.
Experiences of trauma and sexual abuse sometimes span generations. It’s important to know that no matter how many generations back your trauma may go, or if you are the first that you know of to experience trauma, Healing is possible! The Mother’s Day Resource of the week, Breaking Cycles of Generational Trauma , gives a real mom’s take on how hard and important this work is.
