Under the direct supervision of the Director of Advocacy, the Sexual Assault Counselor/Advocate provides advocacy and support to child and adult victims of sexual violence and their families during the investigative process and through any crises resulting from a recent or past experience of victimization. The Counselor/Advocate will provide follow-up support to the survivor, to include referrals, individual and group counseling, and advocacy as needed.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Human Services, gender studies, or related field, or equivalent experience. Experience in individual, group and family counseling and/or working with people who have experienced sexual assault or related trauma or maltreatment preferred. All candidates will be required to submit Act 33 Child Abuse History Clearance and Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Clearance and FBI fingerprinting in accordance with Child Protective Services Law. Candidate must have access to a telephone and reliable transportation.
