Resource of the week: Know Your IX

Many college students went back to campus last week. With several college campuses in Lebanon and Schuylkill Counties, we want all our local students to have good information on sexual assault. Students are at highest risk for sexual assault during the first few weeks of school.

Sometimes called the “red zone,” (https://www.apa.org/apags/resources/campus-sexual-assault-fact-sheet), as many as 50% of campus sexual assaults take place during this time period. Campuses have reporting requirements, counseling services, and public safety. Students can also access sexual assault counseling, therapy, and 24-hour support line through SARCC at no-cost.

Great news to share though! Students can help prevent sexual assault! Learning practical ways to intervene if you see concerning behavior on campus can keep a dangerous situation from escalating. Learning skills for enthusiastic consent and healthy communication in intimate relationships help too. Want to learn more or request a program for your group of friends, club, or dorm floor?
