Dear Friends of SARCC,
2025 brings challenges and setbacks. SARCC saw a 15% increase in demand for services, while at the same time our funding was cut at both state and federal levels. Uncertainty about the future of violence response and prevention education funding puts our core services at risk. The budget impasses added a strain and a tax to our organization and all centers providing sexual assault services in the state.
With these challenges in mind, our final SARCCITUDE post will help us launch into our annual appeal: We’re Counting on…You. If it were not for the support of local organizations, local donors, and local governments, our doors would have closed this year. 24-hour services would have been shut down. Trauma therapy would have stopped. Court accompaniments might have ceased. We are grateful for YOU, and your personal support. We don’t get to vote on how (or if) our taxes will be spent. We do get to vote with our personal giving.
Despite challenges, we pause to celebrate the victories in our work. Victories like those shared by a survivor client in her poem, “YOU,” contributions from student groups to our work through Denim Days, and our summer camp trips where we foster both fun and safety through prevention programs.
This year, we need the help and support of our community to keep these services up and running in Lebanon and Schuylkill Counties. Please allow us to count on you, so that survivors can keep counting on us. The need is great, and your gift truly matters – this year more than most.
Warmly,
Ali Perrotto, SARCC CEO
