Since the beginning of the COVID Pandemic, our community has been wrought with change, with challenge, and with hardship for many individuals and organizations. Big questions have surfaced, and our community faces real struggle in overcoming obstacles.
In addition, we face challenging conversations in our schools, communities, living rooms, and at dinner tables about topics like healing racism, creating affirming space for LGBTQ+ community members, overcoming the drop in reported child abuse cases, and how to create safe and accountable workplaces in the community.
With these big topics and big challenges in mind, SARCC is once-again announcing a Community Discussion Series, Schuylkill Strong, on the topics listed above.
This first of four Schuylkill Strong Conversations will be a Facebook Live Event discussing the intersections between racism and sexual violence, and how we can approach race with a Color BRAVE perspective. This discussion is hosted in partnership with Geisinger/St. Luke’s Hospital, and will feature SARCC Sexual Assault Counselor Alicia Rathosky, and Christina Davis, a facilitator and trainer from Strength, Love, and Motivation, LLC.
